The Silverton High School dance team has once again proven they’re a force to be reckoned with, delivering standout performances at this year’s state dance competition. From team routines to individual honors, our Foxes have given us plenty to cheer about—including a second-place finish in the 5A/4A/3A/2A/1A Traditional division and a stellar showing from senior Hayley Vinogradoff in the Friday Drill Down.

Competing against Oregon’s best, Silverton earned a score of 82.47 in the Traditional category, landing them just behind Valley Catholic (89.81) and ahead of rivals like Canby (81.86) and South Albany (81.31). Meanwhile, in the 5A/4A/3A/2A/1A Jazz category, the Foxes secured third place with a score of 78.64, trailing only Valley Catholic (89.44) and Astoria (79.50). These results highlight the dedication, talent, and versatility of our dance program—a true point of pride for Silverton.

Hayley Vinogradoff Steps Up

Adding to the team’s success, senior Hayley Vinogradoff made her mark in the Friday Drill Down competition for the 5A division. Facing tough competition, Hayley earned an impressive fourth-place finish, putting Silverton on the map among individual standouts. Here’s how the 5A Drill Down shook out:

  • 5A Drill Down: 1. Ruby Nunley, Parkrose; 2. Onika Hernandez, Wilsonville; 3. Kylie Crawford, Parkrose; 4. Hayley Vinogradoff, Silverton; 5. Makenna Lewellen, Thurston; 6. Brooklynn Rhodehamel, Wilsonville.

In the 4A/3A/2A/1A Drill Down, Pendleton’s Tony Willingham took first (followed by Cierra Brown of Scappoose and Zoey Lucas of Valley Catholic), but Hayley’s performance in the 5A category has Silverton buzzing. For a senior to place so highly in this precision-driven event is a fitting capstone to her time with the Foxes—and a testament to the strength of our program.
